The scope of cross-border displacement is measured on the basis of the stock of asylum seekers and refugees in a country at any given time. Chapters 2 and 3 of the World Migration Report 2022 provide global and regional trends on the number of asylum seekers and refugees according to the latest data released by the United Nations Office of the High Commissioner for Refugees.
